Innermost Self

To allow myself to do anything at all is oftentimes difficult. “Allowing” is a practice of letting go of what I think reality is, and letting it just be what it is. I have a friend who says, “It’s not happening to me. It’s just happening”. I hold onto that whenever I feel personally attacked and offended.

To allow myself to inhabit the fullest version of me, I have to sit back and see what my reality is in that moment. When I try to figure everything out then I get anxious and overwhelmed! I may internalize the anxiety and start to panic. That right there is not the fullest version of me. It’s completely valid to feel overwhelm, absolutely 100%! What I mean is, when inhabiting the fullest version of who I am deep down, I am able to see the truth of the situation. For example: My almost 2 year old nephew comes to my house for dinner a lot. I’m always a nervous wreck because I’m afraid he’ll choke on his food! Is he choking? No. Then why am I still so nervous? I’m not reaching inside and finding the peace and courage I need to start living in the moment.

Living in this very moment in time is where Spirit lives. There’s no past, no future, just here. This is where I find my fullest version of myself! Here, I am capable of giving my full attention to life. I can find peace. I can find joy. I can find contentment. If I’m living in the moment, everything else going on in my head sort of melts away. It’s that allowing of situations, people, and things to just be. It’s here where I’m free to be my fullest, most authentic self.

Inhabiting the fullest version of you is a practice AND it’s as simple as noticing your surroundings and taking a step back from what your mind is giving you. From there, you’ll be able to see that what’s happening around you is not what’s happening inside you.

Stay present my friends!

Sending love and light, Kel.
