Change is difficult. We are creatures of habit and don’t like change. But, how are we to grow without changes?
I’ve recently been working on moving forward in my life. I’m writing again. I’m taking suggestions from my therapist seriously. I’m moving on into a new job opportunity (we’ll see how that goes)!
Things have to change in my life or I get stagnant. All my demons come out when I start to feel stuck. All the self-destructive behaviors come out to play. These are the things that need changing the most.
Nothing in life is by mistake, in my opinion. And yet, all of life is a practice. I’m going along on a journey. There are up’s and down’s for sure. These up’s and down’s aren’t as extreme as they once were. Sometimes they can still become extreme, though rarely. When this happens, I have my support system, my treatment team, and my Higher Power to help me. Ultimately though, it’s up to me to do the work.
Change can be a great thing as long as we face it head-on. Running away most often results in pain. I’m attempting to embrace changes a they come, and letting go of fear. Easier said than done! Like I said, life is a practice, and letting go of fear to embrace change is another practice.
So, embrace change and grow. What’s the worst that could happen? And, what about this: what’s the best that could happen? It’s time to spread those wings and fly!
Sending love and light, Kel.
