I was going to write a gratitude list for myself because I’ve been struggling lately with negativity and low self-esteem. I decided to do something a little different and write about why I’m grateful for these things.
My mom- She is always there when I need her. She has a great laugh! She puts others first. She’s an awesome person overall!
My therapist- She really is “no bullshit”; she doesn’t let things slide and calls me on my shit. She is so empathetic. I can tell she loves what she does.
My sister- She’s compassionate and level-headed. She works so hard balancing work and family, and I admire that. She’s there to talk whenever I need to.
My dogs- They’re cuddle bugs! They snore in their sleep and it’s so cute! They’re very happy when it’s breakfast or dinner; they get so excited to eat! They’re soft.
My nieces & nephew- I love watching them grow up! They’re always growing and changing. They have great personalities and wonderful personal characteristics of their own! They be themselves!
My friends- They are always there to support me in anything I may be going through. They are my rock in life most times. I know I would be a completely different person without them.
Myself- I’ve gone through so much in my life and have made it through every one of those challenges. I can say I love myself today, although, I may not always like myself. I’m worthy of the space I take up and the breath I breathe.
These are just a few people (and dogs) who I’m so grateful to have in my life. They mean so much to me and help me grow more & more as a person.
If I just write down each day one thing I’m grateful for and why, then I think it’d help me to be less negative and to actually think about what I do have in my life, heighten my self-esteem, and remind me of what I live for.
