On a Walk

Once again I’m writing in the middle of the night. It’s almost 2:30am. I can’t sleep even though I have a big day tomorrow. I’ll be going on a 3 mile walk with my cousin and my sister. We’re going to walk for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention. It’s a cause near to my heart.

As many of you know, I had a brother who died by suicide in 2003. It wrecked our whole family. I want to walk tomorrow in memory of him. It may be healing to walk in his honor.

I’ve also had my struggles with suicidal thoughts in the past. I’m walking for myself, too, to show myself that I’m not alone in my struggles.

It will be a good day walking together with so many others who have gone down similar paths as myself and my family. Not only do I walk for Jimmy and I, I also walk for them too.

Here’s to another day on this beautiful planet, sharing a common cause of beating suicide.

I’m grateful to be here to witness it.

Sending love and light, Kel.
